Fractal Platform is committed to providing next-generation crypto-economic infrastructure for Internet innovation and delivering better performance and security for distributed applications. Fractal independently designed a new consensus protocol based on probabilistic competition, iChing, which saves computing resources and provides high security while ensuring complete decentralization. Also besides, the BackPackers, a network layer acceleration protocol developed by Fractal has broken through the network layer bottleneck of the public chain and increased the throughput to the nearly limit of the network. At present, the Fractal public chain system supports 20000+ nodes around the world, and the TPS is stably maintained between 3000-5000.
In May 2018, Fractal received millions of dollars from Polychain Capital in the angel round of funding. The team of founders consisted of professors from the University of Maryland, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
